No Downtime Necessary
Benefits
Following nonsurgical rhinoplasty, you are free to immediately resume your regular routine. Appointments can last as little as 30 minutes, allowing you to get back to living your life with minimal disruption. Surgical rhinoplasty can require up to 2-6 weeks of downtime, forcing you to put your life on hold while you heal. While most patients find the results of a surgical nose job to be worth the downtime, some patients cannot afford the downtime.
No incisions means no scarring
Benefits
While traditional rhinoplasty procedures can sometimes be performed using a closed technique that produces no external scars, a nonsurgical rhinoplasty requires no incisions at all. Not only does an incision-free procedure mean no downtime is necessary, but it also produces results that are not impacted by scarring. The filler is administered using a very fine needle that leaves no scarring behind. You may notice some red dots where the injections were made, but they will quickly heal within a day or two.
Fewer side effects for an easier recovery
Benefits
The recovery process from a nonsurgical nose job is comfortable, quick and usually hassle-free. It gives you the option to enjoy satisfying results without worrying about hiding your face and missing work and other social events.
Surgical rhinoplasty requires the use of nasal packing, sutures, bandages and splints with swelling that lingers for months and pretty severe bruising, limiting your ability to go out in public or go back to work.
Subtle, natural-looking results
Benefits
The nonsurgical rhinoplasty procedure is completely customized to your unique preferences and desired results. The amount of filler used and the location of the injection sites will be carefully chosen to complement your nasal shape while adding subtle enhancements. While a liquid nose job uses filler to reshape your nose, it should not result in a noticeable increase in size. Adding small amounts of carefully placed filler creates more balanced features that make your nose appear straighter and more symmetrical.
Keep in mind that a nonsurgical nose job is more limited than surgical rhinoplasty in the types of results it can produce. If your primary concern is reducing the size of your nose, then a nonsurgical procedure may not be right for you. A liquid nose job is best for patients with concerns like asymmetry, bridge depressions or humps, a drooping tip of the nose, that can be fixed by adding more volume to certain areas of the nose.
Completely reversible results
Benefits
If, for whatever reason, you decide that you’d rather stick with your natural nose following a nonsurgical nose job, then you can choose to have the results reversed. In a follow-up appointment, an enzyme called hyaluronidase can be injected to safely absorb the filler and return your nose to its original shape and appearance. Your body will also gradually absorb the fillers on its own after about 12 to 18 months. If you dislike your results, don’t want to maintain your new nose or would like to go in a different direction with your nose, then your body will naturally remove the filler over time.
Any type of facial plastic surgery requires commitment and lifelong changes to your appearance. Deciding to change the shape and contours of your face can be an incredibly difficult choice to make, which is why injectable treatments like nonsurgical rhinoplasty have become increasingly popular in recent years. With the option for temporary but easily maintainable results, you no longer have to commit to irreversible changes to your appearance.
Cost
Benefits
A liquid rhinoplasty costs $800 and a surgical nose job costs $10,000 on average. If you can get the results you want without the added cost, downtime, and recovery.
Little redness and sensitivity
Precautions
As with any procedure or treatment, nonsurgical rhinoplasty has risks and side effects. For most people, the only side effect of liquid rhinoplasty is that they’ll see a little redness and sensitivity in the area of the injection in the day or two after the procedure.
Other possible side effects
Precautions
Other possible side effects include:
bruising at the site of the injection,
swelling, pain and tenderness for up to a week
dryness of the overlying skin
These side effects are common with any type of procedure involving dermal filler injections
However, the nose is a sensitive area. It’s filled with blood vessels and close to your eyes. That’s why liquid rhinoplasty is somewhat more complicated than other kinds of injectable filler procedures.
Possible more serious complications
Precautions
vascular occlusion – when blood vessels are injected, which will lead to tissue death
vision loss
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons conducted a study from 2015-2019 of 5000 patients who underwent liquid rhinoplasty, and only 0.5% of patients showed signs of vascular occlusion.
